2026 Fall In Town Program

For children in the 3rd through 6th grade seeking a casual recreational soccer opportunity. Players may not register for both the Travel and In Town Programs, they must choose one or the other.

Program Description

Each team for the in-town program will play a game on Saturday. The Saturday game sessions begin with a skills and warm-up session, followed by a game. All children are given equal playing time. Every child is encouraged to bring a ball to the sessions.

Equipment Needed
  • Cleats
  • Shin guards
  • Size 4 soccer ball
  • BYSA will provide a team shirt for the season for each player. We will communicate a distribution plan for the team shirt in advance of the season. 

Dates
Program will be 8 sessions which will run on Saturdays. Fall season runs September to November. Spring season runs April to June. No session over Columbus Day weekend in the fall; no session over Memorial Day weekend in the spring. Each session will be 60 minutes long, you will be assigned to a specific session time which will be the same time each week. No refunds after program starts.

Location & Times**
Field location will be provided closer to the start of the season.

2026 Fall Clinics

Mighty Mites (U5) Soccer Clinic
Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten Players under 5 years of age.

Program Description
The Mighty Mites program is a soccer program designed to help pre-school aged children develop the core technical skills needed for playing soccer while having tons of fun. The weekly sessions will be themed, meaning the kids will be adventuring into places like dinosaur land, under the sea, into space and many other fun places all while learning the basic soccer skills. The themed sessions will help capture the kids attention into soccer all while having fun every week.

U6 Soccer Clinic
Kindergarten players and players under 6 years of age

Program Description
The U6 Soccer Clinic program meets once a week on Saturdays. The program consists of 15 minutes of foot skills development with our 3rd party professional coaches, 20 minutes of basic soccer skills practice, and 25 minutes of short sided games. No refunds after program starts.

U8 Soccer Clinic
1st and 2nd grade players and players under 8 years of age

Program Description
Each U8 team will have a weekday practice with our 3rd party professional coaches and a game on Saturday. The practices with the 3rd party coaches are focused on skill development. The Saturday game sessions start with a 15 minute foot skills session with our 3rd party coaches, 30 minutes of basic soccer skills activities with the parent coaches (assisted by the professional coaches) and then 30 minutes of game time. All children are given equal playing time and no one is penalized if they miss practice. Every child must come to practice and games with a ball.

2026 Fall Travel

Burlington Youth Soccer Association (BYSA) Travel teams participate in the Middlesex Youth Soccer League (MYSL). 

Each team will play games both at “home” on Burlington fields and “away” at surrounding towns that are also members of the MYSL.

The travel program is for grades 3 - 12. Grades 9-12 only play in the spring season.

Grade/Age Groupings
The following Age/Grade Groups participate in the Middlesex Youth Soccer League.
Fall Season: Grades 3/4, Grades 5/6, Grades 7/8
Spring Season: Grades 3/4, Grades 5/6, Grades 7/8, Grade 9/10/11/12

Dates
Our soccer calendar year runs August through June. There are two soccer seasons that comprise a "soccer year"; a fall season (August-November) followed by a spring season (March-June). The fall season is considered a developmental season. It generally consists of 8 games. There are no playoffs at the end of the fall season. The spring season is considered a competitive season. It consists of 8 games. Top ranked teams may qualify for MYSL-sponsored playoffs/post-season tournaments. No refunds after program starts.

Team Selection Process
Evaluations are held in May/June for Grades 3-8 to assign rosters for the next fall seasons. Fall team rosters are typically rolled over for the spring season. There may be slight adjustments from the fall to the spring season based on the total number of players and teams. Any player movement between teams from the fall to spring season will be based on player evaluations from the spring. Grades 9-12 only play in the spring season.

Games and Practices
Travel teams practice twice a week and play their games on Saturdays (Sundays for grades 9-12). One practice is led by the assigned coaches. The other practice is led by a professional coach also known as Play Like a Pro (PLAP). Times, dates and days of the week are not guaranteed and can fluctuate depending upon season, weather, field availability and coach availability.

Uniforms
Players will need to purchase a team uniform which consists of shirt, shorts and socks. A separate communication with more specific details will be sent to registered players prior to the start of the fall and spring seasons. There is an additional fee (separate and distinct from the registration fee) for the uniform.

Coaching
BYSA relies on volunteer coaches. Please complete the volunteer coach application form if you are interested.
