BYSA College ScholarshipsBurlington Youth Soccer (BYSA) is proud to offer annual scholarships to graduating high school seniors who previously participated in and contributed to BYSA as a volunteer or referee. Any graduating senior and Burlington resident attending a college, university, junior college or technical school accredited by the appropriate State Board of Education is eligible to apply. To qualify, applicants must have been an active participant in BYSA, as a player, for at least two years (four seasons).
Process for Application
Anyone who wants to apply for a scholarship needs to fill out an application form and submit that along with your high school transcript. Submissions must be made by April 1st of the applicant’s graduating year.

Scholarships Offered
Ron Brush Award: This scholarship is given annually in honor of Ron Brush to recognize those candidates with exceptional contributions to soccer in Burlington. Ron was a Burlington youth soccer coach and the namesake of Brush Field at Marshall Simonds Middle School. Ron passed away far too young at the age of 40 but left an indelible mark on those he coached.
Trevor Saxon Award: This scholarship is given annually in honor of Trevor Saxon to recognize those candidates with exceptional contributions to soccer in Burlington – particularly those who contributed through refereeing youth games. Trevor was long time referee and contributor to soccer in Burlington.
Jim Brine Award: This scholarship is given annually in honor of Jim Brine to recognize those candidates with exceptional contributions to soccer in Burlington. Jim was owner of Brine Sports and a long-time partner and benefactor of Burlington Youth Soccer.
General Scholarships: BYSA also offers general scholarships to applicants who have contributed significantly to BYSA over the years. The number of recipients of this award varies from year to year, depending on the qualifications of the applicants. Scholarships are awarded based on the contributions of the applicant and their family to BYSA. Factors that the BYSA scholarship committee consider include but are not limited to: - BYSA volunteer activities (e.g. helping out at clinic) - Years as BYSA referee - Years as a high school soccer player - Academic record - Parent contributions as a coach and/or member of the BYSA board of directors
